Summer School Alternative Economic and Monetary Systems (AEMS)

Die AEMS Summer School befasst sich mit den Problemen des aktuellen Wirtschaftssystems und steht motivierten Bewerbern aus allen Studienbereichen sowie Fachleuten offen. Der Schwerpunkt liegt auf der Bereitstellung von Alternativen zum wirtschaftlichen Status quo. Unter Berücksichtigung ökologischer Grenzen diskutieren die internationalen Teilnehmer kritisch die Grenzen des Wachstums. Sie lernen, warum ein drastischer Systemwechsel notwendig ist, um das Weltklima bei 1,5 ° C zu stabilisieren, und diskutieren gemeinsam mit Experten aus verschiedenen Bereichen über mögliche Lösungen in einem interdisziplinären Umfeld.
In diesem Jahr wird ein besonderer Schwerpunkt auf Lösungen für die von Covid-19 ausgelöste Finanzkrise liegen, was die noch größere Herausforderung bei der Lösung der Klimakrise noch verstärkt.

The AEMS Summer School addresses the problems of the current economic system and is open to motivated applicants of all fields of study and includes professionals as well. It focuses on providing alternatives to the economic status quo. Keeping ecological borders in mind, the international participants critically discuss limits to growth. They learn why a drastic system change is necessary in order to stabilize the world climate at 1.5°C and debate over possible solutions in an interdisciplinary setting together with experts from various fields. This year, there will also be a special focus on solutions for the financial crisis triggered by Covid-19, adding to the even greater challenge of solving the climate crisis.
