Wir schützen, was wir lieben: Wenn Kinder die Natur wertschätzen, entwickeln sie Achtsamkeit im Umgang mit ihr. Die Studierenden im Schwerpunkt Kulturpädagogik an der Pädagogischen Hochschule Niederösterreich haben Ideen entwickelt, wie Kinder in der Volksschule in Projekten spielerisch, kreativ und lernend der Natur begegnen – und selbst aktiv werden können. Claudia Rehberger und Nina Popovic haben dafür ein Bilderbuch gezeichnet und geschrieben, dass Kindern zeigt, was sie tun können: "Henri räumt auf". Die Auseinandersetzung mit der Geschichte des kleinen Henri, der aus einer Müllhalde eine Spielwiese und dabei aus einem düsteren Dorf eine Gemeinschaft von Freunden macht, weckt Umweltbewusstsein und regt an zum verantwortungsvollen Umgang mit der Natur: mit Farbe, Frohsinn, Freude.

We protect what we love: Children who cherish nature will be mindful about their enviroment. Students of cultural pedagogics at the University College of Teacher Education Lower Austria designed playful and creative learning projects for children at primary school in which they can actively get in contact with nature. Claudia Rehberger and Nina Popovic have written and illustrated a picturebook: The story of little Henri who turns a landfill into a playground, thereby changing a dull village into a community of friends. By reading and discussing the colourful picturebook children can reflect about their environment and by the way get to know what they can actively do for its protection.
