BOKU Lehrgang: 'Die UN-Agenda 2030: den Wandel nachhaltig gestalten'
The motto of BOKU's anniversary year is "looking ahead sustainably", and it is in this spirit that the team at the BOKU Academy of Continuing Education is particularly pleased to be able to present this new course right now. Developed by the Institute for Sustainable Economic Development in cooperation with the University College of Education of the Diocese of Linz, it presents an offering that sets new standards. "Agenda 2030: Shaping Change Sustainably" is the title of the new university course, which offers in-service training to committed and sustainability-oriented individuals over the course of four semesters. The focus is on the development of design competencies for the concrete implementation of the SDGs, in the context of transformation processes in the professional and personal sphere of influence. "The SDGs have been formulated at the global level, but have not yet arrived at the local level across the board in the way that we need for concrete implementation in order to ultimately be able to achieve the goals. What is missing is an intermediate step, the localization of the SDGs. This requires translation work and breaking down the global goals to one's own concerns, one's own scope for action," says Maria Elisabeth Schauppenlehner-Kloyber, senior lecturer at the BOKU Institute for Sustainable Economic Development and lecturer at the Center for Continuing Education of the PHDL, who is significantly involved in the development of the course. The special feature of this continuing education course is the linking of knowledge transfer with the accompaniment of concrete projects in the context of one's own professional activity, the development of which is accompanied from the very beginning in the context of the course. In the third module, the course offers specialized in-depth training for the different contexts of the target groups in the education sector or work at the municipal level. Change is only possible together! The BOKU Center for Global Change & Sustainability provides the introduction to the fundamental interconnected approach of the SDGs with its expertise. Speakers from the practice of the educational and municipal sector take into account the focused implementation reference of the course. "In times of crisis, people are needed who courageously stand up for the living, focus on the essentials and can tackle things together," says Univ.Prof. Dr. Marianne Penker from the Institute for Sustainable Economic Development, and thus sums up the intention of this ULG. „In Krisenzeiten braucht es Menschen, die mutig für das Lebendige eintreten, sich auf das Wesentliche konzentrieren und gemeinsam anpacken können“, sagt Univ.Prof. Dr. Marianne Penker vom Institut für Nachhaltige Wirtschaftsentwicklung und bringt die Intention dieses ULG damit auf den Punkt.
