Kuratorin Marlies Wirth im Gespräch mit den Künstler*innen Kerstin von Gabain und Ivan Pérard Die Ausstellung CLIMATE PANDEMICS nimmt Science-Fiction-Literatur, speziell Climate Fiction, als Ausgangspunkt für künstlerische Reflexion. Im Gespräch mit Marlies Wirth stellen die beiden in Wien lebenden Künstler*innen Kerstin von Gabain und Ivan Pérard ihre Arbeiten und Überlegungen vor: fossile Knochen und die Sequenzierung von aDNA (von engl. Ancient DNA) längst ausgestorbener Spezies und die Theorie, dass sich molekulare Nanotechnologie selbst repliziert (Grey-Goo-Szenario).

Curator Marlies Wirth in conversation with the artists Kerstin von Gabain and Ivan Pérard The exhibition CLIMATE PANDEMICS takes science fiction, especially climate fiction, as the starting point for artistic reflection. In conversation with Marlies Wirth, the two Vienna-based artists Kerstin von Gabain and Ivan Pérard will introduce their works and underlying ideas: the fossilized bones and aDNA (ancient DNA) sequencing of long extinct species and the theory of self-replicating molecular nano technology (gray goo scenario).
