Lions Nachhaltigkeitspreis 2020 - als Beitrag zur Unterstützung der UN Nachhaltigkeitsziele (SDG)

Um die Umsetzung der UN-Nachhaltigkeitsziele zu fördern, will Lions Clubs International Distrikt 114 Mitte mit dem Lions-Nachhaltigkeitspreis 2020 vorbildliche Projekte würdigen. Insbesondere sind Lions Clubs in der Steiermark und in Oberösterreich aufgerufen, nachhaltige Initiativen in ihrem Umfeld zu identifizieren, aktiv zu unterstützen und entsprechende Projekte anzuregen. Es sollen insbesondere Projekte eingereicht werden, die einen Beitrag zu den UN-Nachhaltigkeitszielen leisten. Diese Projekte müssen daher Fragen der sozialen und/oder ökologischen Nachhaltigkeit adressieren, Beispiele dazu wären:
• sozialer Zusammenhalt über unterschiedliche Generationen und Integration
• Einhaltung und Förderung der Menschenrechte
• Bekämpfung und Bewältigung des Klimawandels
• Umweltbildung bzw. Bildung für eine nachhaltige Entwicklung
• Verbesserung der lokalen Umwelt, biologische Landwirtschaft und regionale Entwicklung
• Reduktion von Abfällen, Verpackung, Littering

Lions Clubs International District 114 Austria M intends to promote the implementation of the UN Sustainability Goals, Recognize exemplary projects with the Lions Sustainability Award 2020. In particular, Lions clubs in Styria and Upper Austria are called to promote sustainable initiatives in their region to identify, actively support and stimulate corresponding projects. In particular, projects that make a contribution to the UN sustainability goals should be submitted. These projects must therefore address issues of social and/or environmental sustainability, examples like: - social cohesion across different generations and integration - respect and promotion of human rights - combating and managing climate change - environmental education or education for sustainable development - improving the local environment, organic farming and regional development - Reduction of waste, packaging, littering

Es ist mir ein Anliegen, die Lions Clubs in Österreich mit den rd. 10.000 Mitliedern zu "SDG-Umsetzungskatalysatoren" zu machen. Seit 2005 wird von Lions Clubs International - Distrikt 114 Österreich Mitte - jährlich der Lions Nachhaltigkeitspreis ausgeschrieben. Die eingereichten Projekte werden von einer Jury bewertet und für die Preisträger gibt es in Summe eine jährliche Siegerprämie in der Höhe von 8.000 €. Bewerbungen für den Lions Nachhaltigkeitspreis können bis zum 30. Juni 2020 eingereicht werden.
