Im Rahmen des INTERREG-Projekts ConNat (Connecting Nature) organisiert die eNu das nächste Austauschtreffen zwischen tschechischen und österreichischen SchutzgebietsmanagerInnen zum Thema „Lebensraum Wald“ im Stift Altenburg und in der Umgebung. Ausgehend von einer halbtägigen Exkursion in den Forstbetrieb des Stifts Altenburg, bei dem die ambitionierten Ansätze zur naturnahen Waldbewirtschaftung besichtigt werden können, finden am Nachmittag Impulsvorträge und Diskussionen durch NaturwaldexpertInnen aus Tschechien und Österreich statt, die simultan übersetzt werden. Dieser grenzüberschreitende Austausch richtet sich an all jene, die direkt oder auch mittelbar mit Managementaufgaben im Sinne des Naturschutzes in Waldlebensräumen betraut sind bzw. According to the INTERREG-Project ConNat (Connecting Nature AT-CZ) the Energie- und Umweltagentur NÖ is organizing a Cross-border exchange for management and conservation of protected areas. At the programm there are a excursion about nature forestry in the forest of Altenburg Abbey and a excursion about forest reconstruction after spruce failure in the area around Horn. In the afternoon there are planned presentations about silviculture close to nature, examples of forest operations focused on the protection of specially protected species, experience with natural forest development, aspects for climate protection and natural disturbance in lowland forests.
