Klimafit durch Biodiversität

Artenvielfalt macht die Kulturlandschaft besonders stabil gegen die Folgen eines in seinen Auswirkungen unberechenbaren Klimawandels. Diesem Phänomen trägt ein Projekt der Energie- und Umweltagentur des Landes NÖ Rechnung, das in Zusammenarbeit mit der NÖ Agrarbezirksbehörde und gemeinsam mit der Klimawandel- Anpassungsmodellregion KLAR! Wagram ins Leben gerufen wurde. In einem ersten Projektschritt wurden die Aspekte der Lebensvielfalt und des Landschaftshaushaltes für die Region erhoben und Maßnahmen zusammengestellt. Bei einer gemeinsamen Begehung wollen wir diese im Kreis der UmweltgemeinderätInnen vorstellen und gemeinsam hinsichtlich ihrer Praxistauglichkeit anhand folgender Fragestellungen diskutieren: Wie kann Klimawandelanpassung durch Stärkung der Biodiversität erreicht werden?
Welche Maßnahmen in der Kulturlandschaft können umgesetzt werden?
Wie können verschiedene Zielgruppen wie Gemeinden, Landwirte und Private einen konkreten Beitrag zur Klimawandelanpassung leisten?
Bei der Exkursion wird anhand der Modellregion Wagram aufgezeigt, welche Maßnahmen zur Stärkung der Biodiversität möglich sind. Derzeit wird ein Maßnahmenplan erarbeitet, dessen Inhalte beim gemeinsamen Termin vorgestellt werden. Die Region Wagram ist aufgrund des Klimawandels von Trockenzeiten betroffen, weshalb vor allem Maßnahmen angedacht sind, die zum Verbleib des Wassers in der Landschaft beitragen.

Species diversity makes the cultural landscape particularly stable against the consequences of unpredictable climate change. A project by the Energy and Environment Agency of the State of Lower Austria takes this phenomenon into account. Wagram was launched. In a first project step, the aspects of the diversity of life and the landscape budget for the region were surveyed and measures were compiled. During a joint inspection, we want to present these to the environmental councilors and discuss their suitability for practice based on the following questions: How can climate change adaptation be achieved by strengthening biodiversity? Which measures can be implemented in the cultural landscape? How can different target groups such as municipalities, farmers and private individuals make a concrete contribution to climate change adaptation? During the excursion, the Wagram model region will be used to show which measures are possible to strengthen biodiversity. An action plan is currently being drawn up, the contents of which will be presented at the joint meeting. Due to climate change, the Wagram region is affected by dry seasons, which is why measures are being considered above all that contribute to the retention of the water in the landscape.
