eco3 Projekt – Nachhaltigkeitsmanagement und Green Controlling in der Sozialwirtschaft

Der Klimawandel fordert uns auf, sowohl unser persönliches Verhalten als auch unser Wirtschaftssystem, das dramatische ökologische und soziale Schäden verursacht, zu überdenken. Auch wenn die Sozialwirtschaft nicht für den größten CO2-Fußabdruck, die größte Menge an Abfall oder die Ausbeutung von Menschen in ihren Lieferketten verantwortlich ist, muss auch dieser Sektor der sozialen Dienstleistungen seine Auswirkungen auf den Planeten und die Menschen hinterfragen. Dabei geht es nicht nur um eine CO2-Reduzierung und Ökologisierung von Organisationen, sondern auch um einen Wandel im Management. Sozialunternehmen brauchen Mitarbeiter*innen und Führungskräfte mit spezifischen Kompetenzen im Bereich Nachhaltigkeit. Sie müssen unter Berücksichtigung der Parameter, Grenzen und spezifischen Ansätze der Sozialwirtschaft Nachhaltigkeitsziele umsetzen, geeignete Maßnahmen festlegen und ein nachhaltiges Controlling entwickeln. Das eco3 Projekt ist ein internationales Forschungsprojekt, das sich mit Nachhaltigkeitsmanagement und Green Controlling in der Sozialwirtschaft beschäftigt. Im Projekt werden zukunftsorientierte Kurse mit Lehr- und Lernmaterialien (z.B. Leitfaden für Lehrende, Skripten, Power Point Folien, Planspiele, Videos) entwickelt. Für die Vermittlung von Nachhaltigkeitsmanagement und Green Controlling werden auch die SDGs als Rahmen herangezogen und beispielsweise mit der Gemeinwohlökonomie kombiniert. Dadurch soll Studierenden aus Studiengängen wie der Sozialwirtschaft oder des Sozialmanagements notwendige Kompetenzen und Fähigkeiten vermittelt werden, die sie dazu befähigen sollen, sich mit den Auswirkungen ihres Verhaltens im Umgang mit planetaren Ressourcen und sozialen Grenzen sowie den Auswirkungen ihres Führungsverhaltens auf die ökologischen und sozialen Ziele ihrer Organisation auseinanderzusetzen und Lösungen zu finden. Um das Projekt umzusetzen haben sich vier Universitäten und zwei Unternehmen* aus Österreich, Tschechien, Deutschland und Rumänien, zusammengeschlossen, um gemeinsam in diesem von Erasmus+ geförderten Projekt an der Entwicklung der Kurse zu arbeiten. Climate change is forcing us to rethink both our personal behavior and our economic system, which is causing a dramatic environmental and social damage. Even if the Social Economy is not responsible for the largest CO2 footprint, the highest amount of waste or the exploitation of people in its supply chains, this social services sector also needs to address its impact on the planet and people. It is not just about CO2 reduction and the greening of organisations, it is about a change in management. Social enterprises need employees and managers with specific skills in sustainability. They need to implement sustainability goals, define appropriate actions, and design a green management control system, all while taking into account the parameters, limits, and specific approaches of the Social Economy. The eco3 project is an international research project dealing with sustainability management and green controlling in the Social Economy. In the project, future-oriented courses with teaching and learning materials (e.g., guidelines for teachers, scripts, power point slides, simulation games, videos) are developed. The SDGs serve as a framework for teaching sustainability management and green controlling and are combined with the common good economy, for example. The aim is to provide students from study programs such as Social Economy or Social Management with the necessary competences and skills to enable them to reflect on the effects of their behaviour in dealing with planetary resources and social boundaries. But also to reflect on the impact of their leadership behaviour on the environmental and social goals of their organisation and to find solutions. To implement the project, four universities and two companies* from Austria, the Czech Republic, Germany and Romania have joined forces to work together on the development of the courses in this Erasmus+ funded project.
