Burgenland BeeFit - Insektenhotels für Schulen und Kindergärten zur Förderung der Artenvielfalt

Der neue Schwerpunkt des Vereins UNSER DORF mit seinem Projekt „Burgenland BeeFit“ zur Förderung der Artenvielfalt in Burgenlands Dörfern trifft exakt den Puls der Zeit und motiviert nun Schulen und Kindergärten zur Förderung der Artenvielfalt vor dem Klassenzimmer. Anlässlich der „Aktionstage Nachhaltigkeit“ ruft der Verein UNSER DORF bereits die „Kleinsten“ der Gesellschaft auf, sich für den Erhalt und die Förderung der Artenvielfalt direkt vor unserer Haustüre bzw. dem Klassenzimmer einzusetzen.
Zu diesem Zweck verschenkt der Verein UNSER DORF und Obfrau LH-Stv. Astrid Eisenkopf im Rahmen des Projektes „Burgenland BeeFit“ ein Insektenhotel an jede Naturpark Schule und jeden Naturpark Kindergarten. Weitere 20 Insektenhotels werden an burgenländische Schulen und Kindergärten außerhalb der Naturparke verlost. Interessierte Schulen und Kindergärten können sich unter info@unserdorf.at für die Aktion „Burgenland BeeFit“ anmelden. Die Insektenhotels wurden in Kooperation mit dem sozialökonomischen Betrieb „Koryphäen“ aus Neusiedl gefertigt und sind liebevoll konstruierte Einzelstücke.
„Der Erhalt der Artenvielfalt und die Förderung der Lebensräume für unsere Insekten betrifft uns alle und soll möglichst viele Bereiche abdecken. Das Engagement für diese kleinen aber wichtigen Nützlinge reicht von der Anlage von Blühflächen mit regionalen Blumenmischungen, Wassertränken im Sommer, Überwinterungsquartiere durch brachliegenden Wiesenflächen, Mähzeitpunkte erst nach dem Winter und im kleinen Rahmen, dem Aufstellen von Insektenhotels und dem richtigen Befüllen mit passenden Nistmaterialien. Gerade Kinder lieben es, das fleißige Treiben rund um das Insektenhotel im Frühling zu beobachten und haben ihre Freude daran, etwas Gutes für die Nützlinge getan zu haben. So schafft man Bewusstsein und Achtung von Kindesbeinen an.“, so Obfrau des Vereins UNSER DORF und für Dorfentwicklung zuständigen Landesrätin, Mag. Astrid Eisenkopf. „Das Artensterben im Tier- und Pflanzenreich betrifft alle Sparten, so auch die Insekten. Gerade Wildbienen sind sehr standorttreu und haben teilweise nur einen recht kleinen Flugradius. Aus dem Grund ist die Lebensraumgestaltung auch auf kleinem Raum, wie z.B. im Schulgarten oder im Gemeindepark von wesentlicher Bedeutung für diese Nützlinge.“, so Mag. Marlene Hrabanek-Bunyai, Geschäftsführerin des Vereins UNSER DORF. Der Verein UNSER DORF informiert Gemeinden und Vereine über die naturnahe Gestaltung der Dörfer sowie unterschiedliche Umsetzungsmöglichkeiten. Besonders engagierte Gemeinden werden nach Erfüllung von gewissen Kriterien als „wunderbar-naturnah“ Gemeinde ausgezeichnet. Dadurch wird das Engagement der Gemeinden sichtbar gemacht und die Aktionen der Gemeinde zur Förderung der Artenvielfalt im Dorf werden von der Bevölkerung besser verstanden. Eigene Informationsschilder informieren über die Wichtigkeit von „wilden Blühflächen“ oder „unordentlichen Ecken“ für Insekten und Kleinsäugetiere. „Rechtzeitig vor dem Frühjahr wird es im Rahmen des Projektes “Burgenland BeeFit“ für Schulen und Kindergärten auch spezielle Workshops zum richtigen Befüllen von Insektenhotels geben. Leider geschehen hier immer wieder unbeabsichtigt schwerwiegende Fehler und durch falsche bzw. fehlerhafte Nistmaterialien wird mehr Schaden als Nutzen angerichtet. Hier gilt es Aufklärungsarbeit zu betreiben und die Menschen zu informieren.“, weiß LH-Stv.in Astrid Eisenkopf.

The insect hotels were manufactured in cooperation with the socio-economic company "Koryphänen" from Neusiedl and are lovingly made one-offs. “Preserving biodiversity and promoting habitats for our insects affects us all and should cover as many areas as possible. The commitment to these small but important beneficial insects ranges from the creation of flowering areas with regional flower mixtures, water troughs in summer, wintering quarters through fallow meadow areas, mowing times only after winter and on a small scale, the setting up of insect hotels and the correct filling with suitable nesting materials. Children in particular love to watch the hustle and bustle around the insect hotel in spring and enjoy doing something good for the beneficial insects. This is how you create awareness and respect from childhood. ”, Says chairwoman of the association UNSER DORFand regional councilor responsible for village development, Astrid Eisenkopf. “The extinction of species in the animal and plant kingdom affects all sectors, including insects. Wild bees in particular are very loyal to their location and sometimes only have a very small flight radius. For this reason, the design of the living space is also possible in small spaces, e.g. in the school garden or in the community park of essential importance for these beneficial insects. ”, says Mag. Particularly committed communities are recognized as "wonderfully close to nature" after certain criteria have been met. This makes the commitment of the communities visible and the actions of the community to promote biodiversity in the village are better understood by the population. Separate information signs provide information about the importance of "wild flowering areas" or "messy corners" for insects and small mammals. “In good time before spring, there will be also special workshops for schools and kindergartens on how to properly fill insect hotels as part of the“ Burgenland BeeFit ”project.
