Die umfassende Bildungsplattform "WALD trifft SCHULE" fördert das wichtige und vielfältige Thema "Wald" im Unterricht und orientiert sich an den Prinzipien einer "Bildung für Nachhaltige Entwicklung". Als Kohlenstoffsenke, Lebensraum, Schutz vor Naturgefahren, Trinkwasser- und Luftfilter genauso wie als Arbeitsplatz und Rohstoffquelle erfüllt der Wald vielfältige Funktionen für uns alle. WALD trifft SCHULE betrachtet das Ökosystem aus allen Dimensionen der Nachhaltigkeit und weckt so Bewusstsein für den verantwortungsvollen Umgang mit unserem natürlichen Erbe. Auf der Website www.waldtrifftschule.at, die mit Unterstützung von Bund, Ländern und der Europäischen Union entwickelt wurde, finden Pädagog*innen schnell und einfach für alle Altersstufen gebündelt Materialien, die auf fachliche Richtigkeit und didaktische Eignung geprüft und zentral angeboten werden. Weiterbildungsangebote, Veranstaltungshinweise und Workshops runden das Angebot ab. Unter dem Motto "Die Vielfalt des Waldes auf einen Klick" wird wertvolles Wald-Wissen weitergegeben und Kinder und Jugendliche von heute als Wald-Nutzer*innen und Entscheidungsträger*innen von morgen für das komplexe Thema nachhaltig bewahrter, zukunftsfitter Wälder sensibilisiert.

The educational platform "WALD trifft SCHULE" (i.e. "Forest meets School") promotes the important and diverse topic of forests in education and is based on the principles of Education for Sustainable Development. As a carbon sink, habitat, protection against natural hazards, drinking water and air filter as well as a workplace and source of raw materials, forests fulfill a variety of functions for us all. "WALD trifft SCHULE" presents the ecosystem from the perspective of all the dimensions of sustainability and thus raises awareness for the responsible treatment of this valuable resource. On the website www.waldtrifftschule.at, supported by the federal government, federal states and the European Union, teachers can quickly and easily find collected materials for all ages that have been checked for content and didactic suitability. Furthermore, seminars for teachers, events as well as workshops are offered. Following the motto "The diversity of the forest at one click", valuable forest knowledge is passed on and today's children and young people as tomorrow's forest users and decision-makers are sensitized to the complex topic of sustainably preserved forests fit for the future.
